These are the little dancers, I worked on last weekend. Not my usual colours. That was all predetermined by picking a number out of a hat, and going to my assigned work table. I quite enjoyed this little project.

Here is a little dancer, I made after my workshop on Saturday. She is paper with collaged maps, music , wrapping paper and words. I used my little P-touch Brother labeller for some of the words. She was given to a relative having her 80th birthday.

Boating adventures.

We have just come back home after 8 days on the boat. We visited some of the old haunts from years ago, Montague Harbour on Galiano, Ganges on Saltspring Island and Sidney. In Sidney we visited with family, with friends http://www.stacystudios.com/ and shopping. I found a big garden pot, my dh carried it down to the boat and it resided in the V berth until we were home.


This is going to be used for my fountain, I’d better get it up and running fairly soon or summer will be over.

Ganges was wonderful, a workout on my visa card. I found a hat, that shelters my eyes and my head doesn’t get too hot. Just a knitted bucket hat, of wool and hemp made with love in China. I found a quilting store, http://www.stitchesquiltshop.com/great fabric, then discovered the wool and then a few fabrics used in altered textiles that one burns for an unique effect, puff paint and foils. Great fun. I also got a experiment kit from Stef Francis.http://www.stef-francis.co.uk/ Ohh, it was a good day. I’ll take more pictures tomorrow.

At low tide, I could see starfish on the pylons under the dock. Two were trapped in the rotted out section of the dock support.

Crafts on Board

When I go on holidays, I like to take a variety of crafts. The criteria is that it can’t take up too much space. All of this except for the pencil crayons fitted into a Canada post mailer box. There was also pen and pencil and a film cannister with needle and threads inside.

This are the word prompts that I had taken along. I found this on Nicola’s bloghttp://artful-life-with-elizajane.blogspot.com/ and the words are put in a bag and you do that technique on your artist trading card or journal page. The two columns on the right I didn’t use as I didn’t have those things with me. I did have my labeller so that I could make my prompts. I also have a set of words that I am going to use for fabric as well.

I am quite happy with this group of 4 ATCs and this journal page. In the end I was tearing up travel phamphlets and yarn labels. Next time I am adding a felt pen, a needle with a bigger eye and a bigger variety of papers.

I will post knitting later, along with the list of magazines that I need incase I am bored.
Adriana , You asked if I got seasilk on board, I think you are besotted with your latest yarn. I don’t knit underway only when docked or at anchor. It would be lovely to get seasilk.

These two spreads are from a book, I am altering with a theme of fashion and style. This is where I practise something new and don’t know if I’ll ever be finished.
There is a niche in the back for a few momentos but I have ripped it apart to reglue, the cover is still a problem as well. I have been wanting to play with paper and currently I have been doing a little scrapbooking, I have only put in the background pages and haven’t decided on the photos yet but I won’t need them until Christmas. It has been fun collecting backgrounds for children.
